Folks, the support you give your spouse is crucial. When a husband or wife is supportive of their spouse in various areas of life, it boosts their confidence, among other things. How do you express your support to your spouse? Whether it’s in your words or action, ensure your support is felt. A few tips (in no particular order):

If you don’t understand what your spouse wants to do, don’t blow them off. Clarify until you understand.

Don’t berate them or make them feel as if they or their goals are irrelevant or impossible.

Suggest options and additional ideas to help them think of other ways to reach their goal.

Direct them to resources/people who can help them in this regard.

Pray for them. Your prayer as their spouse is important. If they need wisdom, or you feel they lack direction/clarity, pray for them.

Encourage them. Some things may not go as planned, remain an encourager. Be a shoulder to lean on as needed.

Be a helper! Whether you are the husband or the wife, be a helper.

Check in. Ask them for updates. The only time you talk about it shouldn’t be when they bring it up.

Don’t be threatened by their accomplishments and progress. Trash every feeling of insecurity. Their rising is your rising.

Be respectful always. Address your concerns and give your counsel respectfully. If you both can’t agree, don’t let it degenerate to arguing. Take time off to think and pray, then talk about it again.

Seek counseling if you need it. Don’t justify your lack of being supportive. Calm down and hear someone (a godly person) out. Also do as they advise. It could bring the changes you desire.

To support means to hold up, to reinforce, to assist. Do all that and more! Remember, two are so much better than one! Wishing you God’s best in your marriage and family life! Blessed weekend. Cheers…#kemioyedepo #marriage #light #wisdom #crisisproofyourfamily
