The concept of Fatherhood and sonship in the body of Christ is one of the foundations for the growth and establishment of any minister and his ministry.
It has been proven time and again that a spiritual father is needed for a minister that wants to go far in ministry. However, it has also been proven that not all spiritual “father-son” relationships last for a long time.
However, some ministers of God exist today, who have been known to maintain a good relationship with their spiritual fathers, spanning almost 40 years.
Therefore, it was for this reason that this article was written, to reveal who these ministers are:
1. David Oyedepo
David Oyedepo, who is the founder and Presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church (LFC), has always made bold claims about Enoch Adejare Adeboye being his spiritual father.
Oyedepo claimed that Adeboye was the one who God used to ordain him into ministry in 1983 before he ventured full-time into the ministry. With a little calculation, that was 38 years ago.
It has been almost 40 years since 1983 and both ministers still share a good and healthy relationship, both from a personal or ministerial perspective.
This is usually revealed during their birthdays, as both ministers take advantage of those moments to shower praise on themselves.
It is also worthy of note that Adeboye still ministers in LFC and the same can be said about Oyedepo at RCCG.
2. Dag Heward-Mills
Dag Heward-Mills is one of the highly revered ministers in Ghana. His ministry, Lighthouse Chapel International, and First Love Church are widely known across the globe.
Heward-Mills had made claims that Arch Bishop Duncan Williams is his spiritual father. During one of his ministerial visits to Heward-Mills’ church, Williams pointed out that he had known the latter for almost 40 years.
Today, both ministers still have a great relationship, and according to GhanaWeb, Duncan Williams even claimed that Heward-Mills was his best friend in ministry.
