2 Pastors who were invited by DSS For Questioning After their comments

Nigeria as a country is governed by constitution. It is expected that every Citizen and visitors to the country obey every law enshrined in the constitution.

Some men of God in Nigeria have been invited by the State Security Service (SSS) or Department of State Services (DSS) for one offense or the other.

In this post, we are going to look at two popular Nigerian Pastors who have in different times invited by the Nigeria secret service, Department of State Security for their comments concerning social matters.

One of the Nigerian Pastors who have gotten DSS invitation is the General Overseer of the Evangelical Bible Outreach Ministries (EBOMI), Prophet Isa El-Buba.

According Punch Newspaper, the Jos based man of God was invited by the Department of State Services (DSS) in October 2020 over what seemed to be the comments he made during the End SARS protest which rocked different parts of the country last year.

The newspaper reported that “El-Buba’s invitation appeared to be connected with the #EndSARS prayer walk” which he led thousand of Christians had a prayer walk around the city over “bad leadership and the pathetic state of the nation”.

He was reportedly released after several hours of interrogation by the Department of State Security (DSS).

2. Apostle Johnson Suleman, Founder of Omega Fire Ministry:

The founder and Senior Pastor of the Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide, Apostle Johnson Suleman is another Pastor who have been invited by the Department of State Services (DSS) is in order.

The story of the invitation for interrogation trended in January 2017 after attempt to arrest him in his hotel room failed after the former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose stormed the hotel and abort the arrest. The Governor was reportedly took the Pastor to the Government House.

According to Sahara Reporters, Apostle Johnson Suleman, who Omega Fire Ministry is based in Auchi, Edo State was later invited to the Department of State Security (DSS), Abuja headquarters “for an interview by 10am over an inciting statement.”

Daily Post published that Apostle Suleman honoured the invitation the DSS headquarters and was queried for many hours before he was released.

According to reports, his Communications Adviser, Phrank Shaibu, “Apostle Suleman was allowed to go. The DSS exhibited high level of maturity, competence and professionalism.”
