President Buhari’s government has been frequently questioned and criticised but here are two reasons why Pastor Kumuyi should not be criticised for his statement:
1 – Because it is stated in the Bible: The scriptures in Romans 13:1 states and explains why believers must see that they submit to governing authorities. Romans 13:1 says: “Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God.”

2 – Disrespecting Government can lead to punishments: Recall that believers around the world including pastors were arrested for disobeying Covid-19 lockdown restrictions. Christians need to respect the government inorder to avoid unpleasant consequences.
