Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the general Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God has shared his views on the ongoing clamour for vaccination which has become a major perequisite to access some public services across the country.
The man of God while ministering at the October edition of the monthly Holy Ghost Night took his time to dwell on the issue and the speculation around it within and outside the country.
It could be recalled that since the arrival of the vaccine in Nigeria, some state governmeynt have made it compulsory for their people to eithet take it or face the severe consequence their failure to take the vaccine will have on them. For instance, it was reported in Edo State that civil servants in the state were barred from resuming to their offices without being vaccinated.
Some other states also reportedly followed the trend. While this appears to be the severe penalty for those under the government payroll, others especially those who need to get public service like applying for traveling visa and the rest are reportedly told to provide their certificates before they could be attended to.
Owing to this general development, pastor Adeboye while ministering at the Redemption camp along Lagos- Ibadan expressway on Friday in a topic entitled: Exceed Expectations, stated two things that should be a lesson to every believers as far as COVID-19 vaccine is concerned.
The first statement made by the man of God was the fact that we are alive today by the grace of God and not by COVID-19 vaccine that we are taking. He noted that if we are to go by research and predictions of trained, certified and world class scientist, we should be counting hundreds of thousands copses of COVID-19 victims in Nigeria by now.
He said when he cried to God over the wave of the pandemic, the Lord told him that he should fear not. Those whose times are not ripe will not be affected no matter the situation. He noted that those who are destined to go will eventually go irrespective of how many times they take the vaccine.
In other word, the vaccine won’t change what had already been destined to happen no matter the quantity taken. We are all alive by the grace of God and not by the vaccine. This is what every Christian should take note of.
Secondly, pastor Adeboye said for the sake of the gospel of Christ, if there is need for him to take the vaccine a hundred times, he would not hesitate to do so.
According to him, if he is scheduled to minister in any country and the only condition to travel to the country and do the ministration is to take COVID-19 vaccine no matter how many times he had already taken it, he said he would take again.
What this means is that he is ready to do anything for the gospel of Christ irrespective of how inconvenient it would be for him.
Pastor Adeboye reinstated that Nigerians are surviving the pandemic not because of scientific discovery of the vaccine but by the grace of God.
