Nigerian gospel singer Sinach regaled her social media followers since Wednesday, October 22, with beautiful pictures from the 52nd Gospel Music Association (GMA) Dove Awards.
Billboard had earlier reported that Sinach will be attending the gospel music event and also presenting an award.
On Thursday, October 22, 8pm, EST (1am, 23rd October), during the grand finale of the award ceremony, the Nigerian-born multi-award winner, Sinach, presented the Song of the Year Award alongside Blanca Elaine Callahan won by the song titled The Blessing by Coddy Carnes, Kari Jobe, Elevation Worship.
That was the same category she had won in 2020.
Her popular hit song, Way Maker, had three nominations and won the Song of the Year at the 51st GMA Dove Awards. She is the first Nigerian to win the award.
She shared photographs and videos from the event with Cece Winans, Mali Music, Jekalyn Carr, Lauren Daigle, and the JIREH singer, Chandler Moore.
Sinach is Africa’s most decorated gospel singer, with awards and recognitions from Dove Awards, BMI, CCLI, Billboard, and many more. She was listed by PulseNG as the female artist and gospel artist of the past decade.
US Congress honors Nigerian gospel singer Sinach
According to an eye-witness, the event was so packed that some people had to be turned back. Texas’ consistency’s honourable member, Sheila Jackson Lee, had nothing but glowing words for Sinach whom she described as being deserving of her recognition.
Sheila, who penned down the recognition letter, wrote that Sinach had continued to use her music to spread the gospel all over the world.
