3 Things Pastor Ibiyeomie Advised Christians To Avoid This Festive Season

Pastor David Ibiyeome has advised believers on things to avoid in this festive season, and this is because many people get carried away and spend beyond their budget, and by the time the period of the season expires, there is little or nothing left to cater for other important needs.

The festive season is an annual recurring period that is recognized in many countries. It runs from late November to early January and is also known as the Christmas season. It is, indeed, a time when many people do a lot of shopping for themselves and their loved ones, as well as celebrate Christmas Day, and also New Year’s Day, which mark the end of the season.

The founder and senior pastor of Salvation Miniseries, while ministering at the church headquarters in Port Harcourt, revealed three things believers should avoid during the festive season. In this article, I want to share those things with you as follows.

1. Avoid unwanted expenditures. Expenditure is an outflow of money or the amount of money spent as payment for goods or services. You should avoid buying too many gifts that are unnecessary or giving out money just to celebrate the season when there are other important needs to cater for in the coming year, such as house rent, children’s school fees, etc.

2. Avoid borrowing. Some people try to compete with others and go to the extent of borrowing things like clothes, money, and other things just to please others or celebrate the season. You should not compete with yourself because no one is competing with you.

3. Avoid entering next year without a plan. Some people fail to plan for the new year they are about to enter, and as such, they spend all their savings, hoping to have more in the new year, so they pray without planning. Planning means deciding on what should be done, how and where it should be done, and who should have it done. Believers should plan with what they have and not just substitute prayer for planning with the hope of praying everything through without a mind to plan.
