5 Most Expensive Universities Owned by Churches in Nigeria

A high number of Nigerian churches have their own school and record has it  that they have high standards in these schools, the fees can be somewhat pricey and expensive for the average Nigerians.

Although the tuitions are relatively on the high side when compared to how much state or Federal schools pay, their serene environment, education-friendly surrounding and amazingly equipped laboratories show why the tuitions shouldn’t be questioned.

05.  Benson Idahosa University 

Benson Idahosa University is a private, Christian university in Benin City, Nigeria. BIU was renamed in honor of Archbishop Benson Idahosa, a Charismatic Pentecostal minister from Benin City, Nigeria, and reflects his evangelical beliefs.

For a school with such a good reputation one would think the fees would be affordable. This Christian owned institution charges N298,000 – N1,150,000 as tuition fees.

04.  Covenant University 

Covenant University is a private Christian university in Ota, Ogun State, Nigeria. It is affiliated with Living Faith Church Worldwide and is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, Association of African Universities and National Universities Commission. 

Like every other private tertiary institution, Covenant University may be expensive but it’s graduates  are believed to be top notch. The tuition fees of this institution ranges from N817,500 to N882,000.

03.  Redeemers University

Redeemers University is one of the conspicuous religious tertiary foundations in Nigeria.. It was established in 2005 by the General Overseer of the Redeemed Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye.

For its 2019/2020 academic session, the university charges between N 593,000 and N813,000.

02. Babcock University

Babcock University was established by the Seventh Day Adventist Church in 1959 as Adventist College of West Africa (ACWA) but got accreditation in 1999.

The school is located in Ilishan Remo, Ogun State. Depending on the course, the tuition fee is between N500,000 and N3,000,000.

01. Bowen University

Bowen University is a private Baptist Christian Nigerian university owned and operated by the Nigerian Baptist Convention. 

Bowen University is located at Iwo in Osun State, Nigeria, and is housed in the old 1,300-acre campus of the Baptist College, a teacher-training institution on a hill just outside the city. The institution charges between N535,000 and N1,725,000.
