There are 6 questions that might help you determine whether or not an opportunity is from God.
When we are presented with opportunities, the answer may be crystal apparent at times, but at other times, the answer may seem to be much cloudier. The inability to make judgments might render us helpless in circumstances in which we are uncertain about the best course of action. Either we don’t make a decision at all, or we make a hasty choice that we may come to regret in the future.
I want to go through six questions that might assist us in determining whether or not a certain opportunity is one that God may be guiding us to pursue.
- According to the Bible, what should we do? Since God would never go back on what he has spoken in the Bible, it is the greatest place to begin looking for answers. The Bible contains a multitude of excellent and unmistakable injunctions.
- What does it say about the Holy Spirit? Jesus bestowed upon us the Holy Spirit in order to serve as a director for our internal moral compass. It is possible that it will add another layer to assist us in making such selections.
- According to intuition, what should we do? Does the opportunity align with the talents and the calling that you currently have? Do you find yourself thinking about it repeatedly? Is it anything that keeps cropping up? These are potentially sound signs that cause your common sense to suggest, “Perhaps I need to make the most of this chance.”
- What do other holy persons have to say about this? Consult with some of your fellow believers on the best way to proceed. When we converse to other Christians, God may help us better understand our own views and ideas. Place the chance in front of them and see what response you get!
- According to your situation, what can we conclude? Does it work well with the stage of life you’re at right now? Does it fit well with the way your family is now structured
- In making your choice, are you allowing fear to influence you? Fear plays an excessive role in our decision-making, which is contrary to what God would desire for us to do.
Always keep these questions in mind as a guide to help you assess if a possibility is from God or whether it is one that you should really consider passing up.
