A lot of ladies are living in bondage because they’re ignorant of certain truths about themselves. They’re in self-imposed or relationship bondage because no one told them the truths you are about to know.
Your accurate understanding of these truths will determine how you’d be treated by men, how you’d carry yourself and your views about life and marriage.
The truth you need to know about your femininity is not in the world but in the word of God. Many of you are pursuing the world’s definition of femininity which makes you live a different life from what God created you for.
Grab a bottle of chilled soda. Read these truths to understand and don’t rush it.
- Be adorned
Most ladies are more concerned about how they look on the physical while they ignore their inward look. It’s not your physical adornment that makes you beautiful but your inward adornment.
“Let not your adorning be that of the outward adorning of plaiting of the hair, and of wearing of gold, or putting on of apparel; but let it be of the hidden man of the heart, in that which is incorruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which in the sight of God of great price” (1 Peter 3:3-4).
Did I say that you shouldn’t look good? No! Don’t let the bulk of your investment be on the outward look. Invest more in your content than on your container.
Be adorned with a meek and quiet spirit and a godly character. Don’t be proud even if you are richer than the richest man in the world. Stay humble.
Possess the virtue of a quiet spirit. Great women aren’t lousy, they’re very much reserved because they carry great content. Only empty barrels makes the loudest noise online and offline.
- Understand submission
Submission is not slavery or subjugation. Most ladies who paint themselves as feminist don’t understand this.
Before submission comes love. You can’t submit to someone you don’t love. And you’ll have more friction in that relationship if only your will must prevail.
The best way to win the love of any man is to love and respect him, that’s submission. If you love him, you will submit to his opinion. If Abigail could submit to the folly of Nabal till God rescued her, you can learn from her.

- Get a life, don’t be cheap
A woman that does not have her life to live would be taken as being cheap and for granted. You know why? She’d try to fit into someone else’s pattern of life or be used against her original purpose.
When you get a life to live, you won’t have the time to please anyone. When you get a good life, you won’t be running after men to make you complete but rather, real men would seek to partner with you because of the things you carry.
Seek to be educated beyond the norm. Seek to be financially independent. You have a brain, think. You don’t know what you can do for yourself and by yourself until you discover the potentials in you. Discover yourself!
- Let your words be few
Women are known to possess more vocal strength than men but a woman who is spirit-filled and guided won’t be a talkative.
Wise women don’t talk because they have something to say, they talk because there’s a need. When you talk too much, you spill out what should have been kept secret, and in so doing, you lose relevance. .
- You can be strong if you choose to
Scripturally, a woman is said to be a weaker vessel, not in terms of mental, financial, spiritual or psychological matters but in physical strength.
Some women hide under this guise to make themselves vulnerable in their relationship. Strength comes in the place of exercise.
Read books to acquire knowledge. Make money legitimately, multiply and manage it. Invest your time in prayer and the word to build spiritual muscles.
You can convert your emotional weakness to strength if you choose to.
- You were created for a purpose
Please understand this!
Most ladies don’t know that. And those who know do not live for the right cause.
A woman is not made to be a sex object, or to subservient. You were made to be a help meet. You’re to help God achieve His cause and when you are married, you’re to be a help meet to the man you’d be joined to.
When a woman does not know her purpose, she’ll be used to serve or achieve a contrary purpose. Know God’s purpose for your life and ensure that you fulfill it. It’s by this that you can live a fulfilled life according to God’s standard.
And here’s the shocking truth.
- You are a man
You may not have heard this before but let me show you how.
God created man first as a spirit with a soul before the body was made from the dust. Adam was a composite creature (Gen. 5:2). But in Genesis 2, the woman was separated from him.
God didn’t create another being (woman), she was made from a man but was given a female body. It’s the body that makes you a woman. But it was the same spirit that God first made as Adam before He gave him a body that you also have.
In heaven, there’s no male or female, we all will become spirits, made in the image and likeness of God (1 Cor. 15:50, Matt. 22:30).
What’s the implication of this?
Don’t allow your body to prevent you from harnessing the potentials in you. You may have a feminine body but you possess the spirit of a man. This is why Steve Harvey wrote a book and titled it, “Act like a lady, think like a man”.
Don’t let your emotions define you. Think logically and not emotionally. Be a woman in appearance but wake up the man in you.
