7 Ways To Identify False Prophets According To The Bible

“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” 1 John 4:1

Christians need to be extra careful not to fall into the hand of end-time false prophets. Currently, many men call themselves men of God but not all of them are sent by God. Some of them are false prophets sent to deceive Christians and lead them to hellfire at the end.

Christians need to know how to identify who is sent by God and who is not to avoid being deceived. Below are seven ways the Bible says we can identify those who are not sent by God –

1. When false prophets prophesy, it doesn’t come to pass. The demonic spirit using them to prophesy doesn’t have total control of events that happen on earth, and they don’t know the mind of God. They may prophesy one thing and God does the other. They lack synchrony with the voice of heaven. Dear, be careful with such men. Here is what the Bible says.

2. False prophets are usually proud. They claim the glory for a miracle they perform. They talk as if by their power the miracle happened. They hardly acknowledge God when a miracle happens through them. They are proud because their father the devil was thrown to the earth because of pride. Be careful with men that point you to themselves instead of God.

3. False prophets lack character. A prophet who prophesies and yet is found sleeping with young girls/boys, performing rituals secretly or openly is an agent of the devil. Such men like commanding you as if they are better than you before God or as if God who isn’t doesn’t respect any man respect them note than you. They disgrace men in public as if the grace of God disgrace men. Beware of this men.

4. They perform a miracle for you in exchange for something. God’s gifts are free of charge. Prophets who pray or perform miracles for money are not sent by God. Such prophets steal from men by giving them false hope or prophecy for pay. God desire your commitment, not your money. Beware of them.

5. They like exercising authority over men than over the spiritual powers of satan. False prophets love exercising authority over men who have decided to work under their ministry. They inflict fear and sometimes threatening you if you fail to full their institutions. God is not wicked. These men get their wickedness from their Father satan.

6. False prophets have no business other than criticising and condemning those called by God. True prophets of God seek to reconcile men with God not to condemn them. They beg God on behalf of men and correct men to walk in God’s way.

7. False prophets love making themselves known by an advertising campaign. The focus of their meetings is to attract a crowd who will join them to destruction. They point men to what they can do neglecting God. Their meetings are characterized by entertainment instead of preaching the undiluted word of God. Let us be careful not to fall in their hands.

Whenever someone tells you that he/she is a prophet, use these ways to test the spirit as the Bible says. I may not have stated all in this list.
