I hope you are fine. I am checking on you because I know things are difficult right now. The way the world is, and the way it has affected economies…

Or, even before now, things had been difficult for you…

The burden of not being able to take responsibility has weighed you down. You can’t even find any way to be the “man” as you should, and your Wife is the one “feeding” you and the children…

Please, KNOW that IT IS A PHASE. DON’T let this make you what you shouldn’t be.

Don’t let it make you “lose” your family. Your Wife and children. Challenges have a way of making you point fingers and take it out on them, out of your frustration, but please try not to. The situation will change. Your work will pick up again, help will come, as long as you’re not relenting, you’ll get a better job, you’ll feel “pumped up” again, but you would have “lost” your Wife, her especially.

See, it is not only ọmọkùnrin that life is not easy for. All of us ni. She too is not happy deep within because she’s the one “doing everything” but she’s just carrying on in hope.

Use this time to GROW yourself and be a better human. Make it “bearable” for her. Don’t now go and put too much pressure on her. She will either withdraw or flare up, depending on her personality and you would take it to be “she’s proud”, “because I don’t have money”, as that’s the way the society had conditioned your mind to be. You’re killing her the more!

No, it’s not because you don’t have money. She is not proud. You’re only focusing on yourself alone ni. You should show empathy for her too as she shows to you. It’s not easy on her at all, she’s just carrying it with grace. Don’t abuse it.

The times wil change and what will give you the most joy is your family being together. If you’d “lost” her in the process of your troubles, you would see the sings that something is wrong and you would be confused and think “Women can never be satisfied”, another mindset you need to conquer.

This marriage thing, hẹ̀nẹ́n, the basic ingredient to concoct peace and joy is EMPATHY/INTENTIONAL KINDNESS, in every case. I’m still learning though. 😊
