Trust and obey, for there is no other way, to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey. Obedience is very key in enjoying the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living but when you choose to obey the Lord, it must be done in full. The bible promises blessings for people who pay their tithes ‘in full’, not partly, to enjoy God’s blessings, don’t obey partly, obey fully. Adeboye made this clear in the Open Heavens devotional titled Follow the Instructions.
He then gave an instance about why he rejects Holy Communion in some churches he visits for ministrations. Before Jesus Christ was crucified, he called his disciples and they are their ‘last supper’ together, a practice we still observe today because Jesus said it shouldn’t be stopped.
Adeboye said he politely declines the Holy Communion in churches when it is served in the morning or afternoon because the bible clearly states that it should be served in the evening as it is a ‘supper’.
Adeboye believes the instructions for the Holy Communion (taken in the evening) should be followed to the latter if the benefits are to be gotten.
Does the timing matter to you?
