A 39 years old man identified as Monday Akao, has recently confessed to the police on how he and his gang specialise in breaking into churches late at night (Mostly Mountain of Fire and Redeem Churches), to steal music instruments. He was arrested in Abuja.
According to @within Nigeria, the suspect who was paraded by the police, claimed he is from Nasarawa state, he and his gang have broken into over 16 different churches in Abuja.
As soon as they steal these items, they load them in vehicles, they have another member of the gang who dresses in full military uniform of the army, he impersonates as a military officer and sit in front of the vehicle.
He introduces himself as a senior officer of the Nigerian Army, whenever he comes across security operatives
They were able to by-pass several security for months through this strategy, until the police eventually caught up with them.
His accomplice, Joseph was also arrested. Joseph receives and buys the stolen items from him.
