Archbishop of Abuja, Cardinal John Onaiyekan, on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, led other clergymen including Bishop Martin Igwe Uzoukwu from Minna Diocese, Niger State, to visit the Islamic Education Trust, an organisation founded by the late Sheikh Ahmed and Aisha Lemu.
Maryam Lemu, one of the scions of the late educationists, posted the pictures of the courtesy visitation on her social media handle on Thursday, January 13, 2022.
The motivational speaker and relationship expert wrote; “We had a special guest pay us a courtesy visit yesterday. Cardinal John Onaiyekan, escorted by Bishop Martin Igwe Uzoukwu and other Clergymen from the Minna Diocese, visited the Islamic Education Trust, the organisation established by my late Parents.
“My father was very much into peacebuilding and interfaith dialogue. He and the two gentlemen became good friends.
“Over the years they have joined us for numerous workshops and have presented papers at some of our interfaith events.
“My brother Nurudeen Lemu (who is also a renowned Islamic scholar) gave them a tour of the compound including a visit to the Da’awah Institute. In one of the photos, you see him pointing at the various publications of the organisation and activities of the IET.
“It was such a pleasure hosting them.
“May Allah continue to put light in all our hearts and help us find more in common. May He unite us for good and may peace reign in this great country,” she added.
