Pastor David Ibiyeomie Reveals Why He Would Have Died A Nonentity, Reveals What Made Him Who He Is Today

Pastor David Ibiyeomie, the founder and senior pastor of Salvation Ministries spoke on “Accessing Your Inheritance” at Salvation Ministries Home of Success, Mid-week service.

He revealed that Jacob means a supplanter, a cheat but he received the blessing of his father, Isaac. When he saw that the blessings of his father were not manifesting in his life, he wrestled in prayers as he fought with the angel. That wrestling means prayers. The angel said, “No longer shall you be called Jacob but Israel.” That means he moved from an individual to a Nation. “You will no longer be called Jacob (one man) but Israel (a Nation). The cleric then revealed that you can change your identity with prayers just as how Jacob prayed himself from an individual to a nation.

Speaking further, he said that he would have died a nonentity if he didn’t get up to pray. It is prayers that made him who he is now. He stood and said, “God this is not how you want my life to be; this is not how it should be, God change my story now, with a holy anger.” He then claimed that it is not all the kind prayers that you pray with a fine boy attitude. God has known your English already, stop speaking English to God, he’s the owner of all languages, God is not interested in your grammar. Go and pray as Jacob prayed.

“You’ve never suffered because if you have suffered if you came from my kind of background, nobody will advise you; you will advice yourself,” he said. Look at Jacob, he prayed. He prayed his way, he stood up and said “No, this can’t be where I ought to be.”

Finally, just as Jacob got his blessings in the place of prayer, you can also get yours if you follow the same step. You are not to pray soft prayers but you have to be able to tarry in the place of prayer. The kingdom of heaven suffers violence and only the violence can take it by force.
