Tears as popular Kaduna pastor’s wife unites Christians, Muslims in death

The much sought unity among Muslim and Christian faiths got momentous recently in Kaduna at the funeral of the wife of firebrand Kaduna clergyman, Yohnna Buru. At the burial site of late madam Grace Buru, were Muslim faithful from across the Northern states, in addition to worshippers from various churches, professional bodies and some members of Kaduna state executive council, writes, Kaduna bureau Chief, Idibia Gabriel,

Multitudes of Muslim and Christian scholars and other religious Faithful from in and out of states of northern Nigeria, recently visited Kaduna state with the aims of participating in the official funeral service of popular Kaduna pastor’s wife, (Grace Isaac Buru).

Alaramma Abdullarahman Mahammed Bichi, from Kano state who came with his entourage said, they came with the sole aim of strengthening good relationship between Muslims and Christians.

He said, the wife of Pastor Yohnna Buru is a peace ambassador because she has been encouraging her husband to participate in all issues related to peace building and religious tolerance in Kaduna and other neighboring states, with African countries inclusive, irrespective of her faith.

According to Mahammed Bichi, Pastor Yonnan, has been participating in many Muslims funeral services, adding “that is why they also came from Kano to participate in the burial service of his wife.

According to him, they “are here to also support him and condole with his family and pray for the late Madame Grace.

Similarly, Alhaji Mohammed Gashqsh who is the national president National tranquility movement of Nigeria also attended the funeral service with his team and children.

He noted that Pastor Buru has a good relationship with the all Nigerian Islamic scholars, saying beyond this; Muslims from northern Nigerian attended the funeral service of his wife.

“We are children of Adams and Eve and we all believe in one God and also believes in our holy Books”, Gashash said,

“They are here to condole with him and pray for the late ones in the cemetery at Television village area of Southern Kaduna.

While calling on Nigerians to equally remember and always pray for the late ones in the grave yard, he called for sanitizing of the grave yard environment to reduce the plastic pollution there in.

Also calling on good citizens of Kaduna to always clean the premises of the grave yard, is Sheik Musa Sani from Katsina state who arrived Kaduna with some Muslims brothers and sisters, noting that the “late pastor’s wife, madam Grace Isaac is the back bone and pillar of success of her husband.

He said, Grace has played a great role in encouraging her husband in organizing peace rallies, event and participating in most of the international peace conferences in Nigeria and some part of the world.

Responding the bereaved, Pastor Buru thanked all the Muslims scholars / Groups that came from Kano ,Jigawa, Sokoto, Zamfara, Kebbi, Zaria, Kafanchan, Niger and Benue states.

Buru equally thanks all the people that have been coming to his house for the condolence of his late wife which among them are the Commissioner for women affairs kaduna state, Dr. Yusuf Nadabo, former Head of Department Anatomy, Kaduna state University, and Kaduna state Civilian JTF with Nigerian Union of journalist, Kaduna State Council and News agency of Nigeria for the visit, as well as the delegate of correspondents chapel of NUJ, led by secretary, Nigerian Pilot, Idibia Gabriel.
