Pastor David Ibiyeomie, preached a message on the things the Holy Spirit can do for a believer. One of the things he mentioned was that he was the spirit of intelligence.
He said, in his sermon, that because of the Holy Spirit, a believer is supposed to be ten times smarter than the highest sinner. This was a direct reference to the story of Daniel and the three Hebrew boys, whom God made ten times better than their contemporaries.
He told his congregation that intelligence is greater than education at school. He said that intelligence is the advantage a believer has over the unbeliever. He recalled that there was a time someone who graduated with a first class degree from his school came to meet him for counseling. This fellow remarked that he was not this intelligent when he was in school.
Finally, he told the story of how he solved an architectural quagmire in the construction of the new 120,000 seater auditorium for Salvation Ministries, without having any prior architectural knowledge. He said that the architects designed the building to have many pillars inside. When he looked and saw it, he immediately disliked the design, but when he asked the architects if there was a different way they could construct it without the pillars, he was told that there was no other way, due to the massive size of the building. He then went to the Holy Spirit and asked for inspiration, and the Holy Spirit told him to tell the architects to put all the pillars outside, which they did. And now, the building looks better than it did at first.
