Africans have been led astray by teachings that portray God as a magician – Dr. Jewel Howard Reveals

Dr. Jewel Howard-Taylor, Vice President of Liberia, on Saturday asserted that Africans have been led astray by teachings that portray God as a magician who can perform any task for them without requiring any effort.

Howard-Taylor argued that a significant psychological problem among Africans is a lack of self-awareness.

The Liberian Vice President, who spoke while delivering the convocation lecture of the Elizade University, Ilara Mokin in Ondo State, expressed dismay on how people who spent all day in the church expect to feed their children.

In her convocation lecture entitled, “Africa Renaissance: Key for New Global Leadership Paradigm,” she claimed that Africans must continue to act as the continent’s gatekeepers.

“They must be deliberate and intentional about changing the mindset of those new leaders in order to plant positive seeds and erase or diminish negative bias.
