After experiencing the love of Christ, the South African co-founder of the Satanic Church steps down

Co-founder of the Satanic Church in South Africa resigns after experiencing the love of Christ.

Riaan Swiegelaar, a former “pastor” at the South African Satanic Church, took to social media this weekend to share how Jesus’ overwhelming love inspired him to leave Satanism.

“I’m doing this live video because many people, over 100 on WhatsApp and nearly 200 on Facebook, are sending me messages asking why I left the South African Satanic Church as well as why I turned my back on Satanism,” Swiegelaar said in a Facebook video posted on July 4.

The video has nearly 200,000 views.

“To be honest, I thought I’d sneak out the back door quietly, and I didn’t expect people to be so interested in why I’m doing what I’m doing. I’ll speak from personal experience. I’m going to discuss my options.”

Swiegelaar wrote a long letter that he intended to post, but instead chose to speak from the heart.

“I believe it is past time for more people to start talking and speaking their truth. So, by making this video, I’m certainly encouraging others to do the same “He stated.

Swiegelaar, a professed homosexual who hinted that he was once involved in Christian ministry more than 20 years ago, revealed that he was drawn to Satanism four years ago in the midst of great brokenness.

He was an atheist at the time, and the commonality of despair among Satanists drew him to that community.

“I became involved in Satanism because it resonated with me at the time, when I was very broken and sad without realizing it. I believe that many people are drawn to Satanism because they come from a broken place “He stated. “Over the last three years, I’ve met thousands of Satanists, and I’m not saying their intentions are bad. They are extremely broken and hurt. That is the one thing we all share.”

While overcome with emotion, Swiegelaar said he began to have a few encounters with Christians who showed him unconditional love without judgment.

“I’ve never known unconditional love in my entire life, and only four Christians in my entire life have shown me what unconditional love is. I’d like to thank those four individuals. Words cannot express how grateful I am to you “Swiegelaar went on to name a few of those people.

“It is everything to show someone you care. It is not an easy task. You have demonstrated everything to me. You have demonstrated Christ’s love to me. I’ve noticed it in you “He continued.

Even though he was a “monster” and a “ugly person,” the former satanist revealed, these people still loved him. He described one of the incidents that occurred in May.

Swiegelaar was interviewed on the CapeTalk radio station on behalf of the South African Satanic Church. During the interview, he stated unequivocally, “‘I don’t believe in Jesus and I don’t believe Jesus Christ exists.'”

Following the interview, the station’s interviewer approached him.

“She came to me after the interview, after I said that, and she hugged me and held me in a way I’d never been loved before,” Swiegelaar exclaimed. “She only did that. She simply stated that it was a pleasure to meet me in person.”

“A week later, I discovered this woman is a Christian through her WhatsApp status. That has never happened to me with a Christian “He explained. “I’ve never seen a Christian show that much unconditional love and acceptance… after I said what I said, she did that. That made an impression on me.”

Swiegelaar’s life was changed when he had a divine encounter with someone he mistook for Jesus during one of his Satanic rituals.

“I performed this ritual, opened myself up, and Jesus appeared. And I was extremely arrogant, saying, ‘If you are Jesus, you must prove it.’ And He poured out the most beautiful love and energy on me. And I immediately recognized it because the woman at the radio station showed it to me. That is how I recognized Christ’s love “He gave testimony.

Swiegelaar stated that he did not believe he was worthy of God’s love because of his lifestyle choices. However, he has had “real conversations with God” since his encounter and claims to have discovered that “the Kingdom of God is not a gated community; it is open to everyone.”

While he is still learning of his newfound faith, Swiegelaar concluded his video by assuring everyone that he will continue to share his journey with Christ.

The Satanic Church of South released a statement following Swiegelaar’s resignation and thanked him for his service to the church.

“We, the SASC Council, would like to express our gratitude to Swiegalaar for his contributions as pastor and co-founder of the SA Satanic Church. We wish him success in all his future endeavors.”
