There are some churches that the present general overseer is not the founder of the church. The general overseer of most churches that have been in existence for over 30 years, are not actually the founder of the church. Please note that i didn’t say all the churches because there are some churches like winners chapel, which has been in existence for over 30 years, and the general overseer is also the founder. Let’s take a quick look at some pastors that died, and who toke over from them.
1) Pa Josiah Olufemi Ekundayo / pastor E.A Adeboye;
Pa Josiah Ekundayo is the founder of the redeemed christian church of God. After his death, pastor E.A Adeboye took over from him.
2) Archbishop Benson Idahosa / Archbishop Margeret Idahosa;
Archbishop Benson Idahosa was the most popular pastor before he died. His wife however took over the mantle of leadership after his death.
3) Pastor Bimbo Odukoya/ Pastor Taiwo Odukoya;
I’m sure you will remember the plane crash that happened some years ago, which unfortunately claimed the life of pastor Bimbo Odukoya and some other person. She and her husband were the founder of the church, and her husband in still moving the ministry.
4) Apostle Eunice Osagiede / pastor Gideon Osagiede;
Recently, apostle Eunice Osagiede of the spirit and life bible church died. After her death, her son, pastor Gideon Osagiede jnr took over the mantle of leadership.
