All Pastors should be involved in Nigerian Politics: Pastor Tony Rapu

Tony Rapu who is a medical doctor, filmmaker, life coach and the Senior Pastor of the House of Freedom has said that Pastors should be involved in political process in Nigeria. He said this during an exclusive interview with Sunday Punch newspaper correspondent.

Speaking further, Tony explained that nothing is wrong in joining politics especially if the pastors are able to manage both sides of their calling, which is very commendable.

He also explained that pastor must be involved in the electoral process in terms of nominating and voting for candidates in the electoral process. He said their work also includes preparing people for governance .

While speaking with Puch correspondent, Tony said many of the Christians who have found themselves in government positions have been ill – equipped to manage the challenges of government . Therefore, church must be part of the process that brings people to power.

He also explained that whether a pastor is called to seek elective position or not, all pastors should be involved in the political process of the country. He said aside from prayers, their call is to help church members to understand their civic responsibilities as Christians.

He however, said pastors should endeavour to engage the congregation to embrace involvement in the electoral process and the political affairs of their country .
