One of the Nigerian controversial preachers, Dr Abel Damina, founder and General Overseer of Power City International, said in a video of his Sunday evening program, which was live on his official Facebook account a few minutes ago, that if you have the image of Jesus in your house, you are an idol worshipper.
All those churches that design doves on top of their church logo are idol worshippers.
Pastor Damina made the statement after he read John 5:37–38, where the bible affirmed that “nobody has heard God’s voice or seen his shape.” He said nobody knows what God looks like; either he resembles a dove or another animal.
He said the bible states that nobody has seen the similitude of God, so how do they get those images? He said men only heard God’s voice (Deuteronomy 4:12). He said that means the only thing we have from God is “words”.
He added that all those calendars with Jesus’ faces are idol worship. He noted that it can’t be Jesus but an American man who played the role of Jesus and has made his money from gullible Christians who believe they have the picture of God in their house.
He finally discloses that the reason we can’t see God’s image is for us not to idolize it (Deuteronomy 4:16). He said when they tell you a child came with the face of Jesus, he said that’s witchcraft.
