“Any Church That Does Not Do Altar Call Will Go Down” – Pastor David Ibiyeomie Says

In many churches today, it is a tradition for the pastor to take an altar call at the end of the message. An altar call, in case you don’t know, is an invitation, given by a pastor, for people to come to the altar and give their lives to Christ.

Pastor David Ibiyeomie has said that any church that does not take an altar call will go down after some time.

“Check those big churches in Europe. They were flourishing until they stopped taking altar calls. Now they’re almost empty,” he said.

“What about the churches we used to attend with our parents? When they stopped taking altar calls, everybody left until only our parents remained. Any Church that does not take altar calls will go down.”

He said that preaching without an altar call is mere motivational speech, and motivational speech will not help anybody’s spiritual life.

The church has a mission to bring people to the kingdom of God, therefore, if they fail to perform their role, then there will be no point for their existence. I guess this is why he said they go down.
