Tunde Bakare, founder of Citadel Global Community Church, has condemned pastors who preach about miracle credit alerts by angels without labour.
Apostle Johnson Suleman, senior pastor of Omega Fire Ministries International, had stirred controversy earlier this month, after a video of him praying for his church members to receive mysterious money alerts from angels surfaced online.
A YouTuber, Israel Balogun, who criticised Suleman over the message was arrested and later released by the Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (FCIID), Abuja.
Reacting, Bakare in a video on social media, admonished his congregation to run from any success that does involve labour.
He likened such pastors to infamous serial fraudster, Ramon Olorunwa Abass, popularly known as Hushpuppi.
He said they will end up like Huspuppi.
“May I appeal to you that any success that does not involve labour, run from it. You arer going to fing out that short cuts are not short in the long run. Hushpuppi. There are so many Hushpuppis on the pulpit. They do credit alert by angels. Do you understand me, they will end up the same way Huspuppi has ended,” he said in the message.
“There is no short cuts, short cuts are not short in the long run. God rained Manna from heaven, it was a supernatural provision, was labour involved, yes. The people had to gather the labour and had to operate by guiding principles and rules.
“When they didn’t obey, the bread worms and the strong among them were slain while the food was in their mouth. How about the birds of the air, they don’t sow, they don’t reap, they don’t gather into barns, was labour involved, yes, they had to get out of their nests to go pick the food and to bring it to their nest to eat. Why? God does not go to their nests to pick the food and put in their mouths.
“Labour is involved. He who shall not work, because of credit alert by angels. The day that happens, God becomes a counterfeiter and angels becomes thieves because they will have to steal it and put it in your account. Your currency is not in heaven.
“So If anybody tells you credit alert by angels, miracle money, he’s a liar from the pit of hell. Angels don’t transfer money into anybody’s account because God is not a counterfeiter and they are not thieves.”
