Arrival of Red Heifers in Israel: A Sign of the Third Temple and the End of Days?

There have been reports of red heifers arriving in Israel; could this be a portent of the Third Temple and the end of days?

Among Christians who anticipate the construction of a third temple in the End Times, the gift of five red heifers to Israel has aroused widespread discussion regarding the event’s importance in biblical prophecy.

The five heifers were shipped in from Texas last week, having been approved by Jewish rabbis as being red in color and spotless, as required by the Mosaic commandment for sacrifice in Numbers 19.

As the end times draw near, many Christians anticipate the construction of a third temple in Jerusalem.

According to All Israel News, rabbis checked the cows and confirmed that they were healthy and without any defects, making them suitable for sacrifice in accordance with the laws of Moses. According to the Book of Numbers, “the ashes of a red heifer are required in order for a person to become ritually pure in accordance with Mosaic law.”

A “red heifer without fault or blemish and that has never been under a yoke” is what Moses was instructed to find in Numbers 19. Outside the camp and in his presence, the priest was to slaughter the heifer. The rest of the chapter details the rituals surrounding the disposal of the heifer’s blood and ashes.

The arrival of the heifers has been called “important” by the pro-Israel Christian website TheIsraelGuys.com.

That multiple red heifers have been brought to Israel and may be used in the resumption of Temple rites in the not-too-distant future is amazing, the website proclaims. However, “as believers in the Bible and God’s prophetic plan for Jerusalem, we first have to care about, and campaign for, the site where God chose to establish His Name, and where He prophesied a House would one day be restored as a House of Prayer for all nations” (Isaiah 56:7).

According to TheIsraelGuys.com, the heifers were seen by Israel’s Orthodox Jewish community as part of the “Jewish path to reestablish the Temple rites in Jerusalem.”
