Be Spiritual, Not Entertainers: I Only Listen to Two Gospel Artistes In Nigeria – Bishop Francis Wale Oke
Bishop Francis Wale Oke of Sword of The Spirit Ministries has urged gospel singers not to settle as entertainers but to be carriers of God’s presence.
The 64 years old preacher at the Holy Ghost Convention of the Ibadan, Oyo State-based Church, lauded Dunsin Oyekan, a Nigerian gospel minister, saying his songs like that of Nathaniel Bassey are in his soul as he listens to them regularly.
Calling Oyekan and his crew to the altar for prayer after their ministration at the convention, Oke said, “…He (Dunsin Oyekan specialises in bringing you intimately to the presence of God. He is not an entertainer.”
At the weeklong convention themed, ‘Landmark Blessings’, which ends today, September 6, Oke marked 38 years into full time ministry by dedicating the Wale Oke College of Missions and Evangelism (WOCOME), Global Missions Camp to equip individuals for missions and evangelism, named after Pastor Enoch Adeboye, whom he described as his spiritual father.
He as well unveiled the plan for a 5000 seaters Ibadan Ecumenical Centre, which he tagged, “legacy project of the Sword Of The Spirit Ministries” .
