Biblical Reasons You Need To Know Why The Rich Are Richer And Poor Are Poorer

Pastor Trish Jones speaking about this subject matter writes “the principle of the “Rich Get Richer And The Poor Get Poorer” is actually a spiritual principle, and here it is, straight from God’s Word.”

“For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath,” Matthew 13:12

According to the scriptures above and the example of Pastor Trish Jones, the rich getting richer and the poor becoming poorer is not just a worldly idea, it is also a spiritual phenomenon.

Therefore, it is evident from the bible that it is possible for the one who has (the rich), to be given more and the one who don’t have (the poor) to even lose more of little that he has- this speaks of abject poverty. While this is applicable to spiritual things, it is also very true in physical material things.

This seems like injustice but it is a matter of principle. Like all legal issues, principles have no sentiments. It works as it is applied. For instance, the principle or law of sowing does not discriminate. Anyone who sows will surely reap.

Yet the question remains that how is it that whosoever has to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever has not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath?

It still goes back to principle of sowing and reaping. Everyone has something at beginning. But some people do things with what they have. They don’t throw it away. Some people however eat everything in their hands or they waste and throw it away carelessly.

We see two categories of people here and what distinguishes them is not who they are or what they become. It is what they do with what they have or what they were given. This reminds one of the parable of the talents.

Five managers were given talents (funds) by their boss. Four of them were given large amount, but one got just a little. The four managers took the funds and invested and got some return on their investment, but the number five guy buried his own portion.

When the time of accounting came, the boss praised the four wise managers and condemned the one with little. The boss took the little given to the man and gave it to those who had more and invested it.
