Have you ever had to search for something before? Perhaps some keys or your phone or your ATM card? Imagine the room where you lost this material was a dark room, and you had no light to help in your search; doesn’t it make the whole process of finding the lost material a little bit hopeless? It will take much more time and energy to find that material, than if you had light. It’s the same thing in the christian faith.
There are things that your redemption has brought for you, but you have to search for them in the word of God. The Bible says in the book of Proverbs, that it is the glory of the Lord to conceal a matter, but the honour of a king to search it out. God gets happy when we discover the things that belong to us. Revelation is the light that you need to make your search fruitful.
Bishop David Abioye said that while redemption changes your status, revelation will establish it. He said that the more light you possess, the farther the darkness will stay away from you.
You see, Satan plays on ignorance, and darkness represents ignorance. Have you ever wondered why the period of human history where there was no scientific progress and knowledge was stagnant, was called the Dark Ages? It just goes to show that darkness is synonymous with ignorance. You can only get revelation if you are exposed to the word of God through the Bible.
If you grab the word of God, and see the light from a verse, the darkness around that verse will disappear as the light goes on, and Satan will never have power over you in that area anymore. Why do you think the Bible says that the god of this world has blinded the eyes of men so that they will not see the light of the gospel? Why is Satan so interested in stopping the flow of light? It’s because he knows that your power to stop him is in your ability to see the light!
Don’t take your Bible study time for granted anymore. Study the Bible and ask God for light. Your life will never rrmain the same if you do. Be blessed.
