Whenever a baby is born, it is expected that the baby will grow and stand on his or her own. No baby is expected to remain small throughout life. The same can be said of spiritual things, everyone is expected to grow spiritually irrespective of religion. Even the Holy Bible advised Christians in 1 Peter 2:2 and said; “As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby.”
Bishop David Oyedepo in his later message to his members, encouraged them to desire the Word of God if they want to grow and overcome life challenge. He told them to tsk responsibility of building their live and spiritual lives.
Bishop David Oyedepo is the founder and General Overseer of the Living Faith Church International popularly called Winners Chapel.
Speaking during ‘Covenant Hours of Prayers’ at his Church headquarters, Bishop Oyedepo said it is by reading the Word of God that Christians can grow their muscles. He added that Pastors can teach you what to do but they cannot force you to implement the teaching. He told his congregation to build the habit of personal reading of the Word of God.
In this article, I will share four points Bishop Oyedepo told his members during the Covenant Hours of Prayers.
Speaking during the exaltation message to his congregation, Church Gist reported that Bishop David Oyedepo said;
1. “Take Responsibility For Building Your Faith, Faith Does Not Grow By Wishing. It Grows By Excercisng Yourself In The Word Of God”:
Bishop Oyedepo advised his congregation to take responsibility for building their faith. He said faith can be grown through constant reading and studying of the Word of God. He also said faith does not grow by wishes but by ready the Word of God.
2. “Until You Are Feeding Fat From The Word, You Will Never Be Strong In Faith. If You Are Not Strong, You Will Waver In Adversity”:
The senior Pastor of Living Faith Church International added that Christians can’t grow their faith until the start ‘feeding’ from the Word of God.
3. “It Is By The Word We Build Our Muscles And No One Can Build Your Muscle For You, They Can Only Tell You How To Build It”:
He added that the Word of God is what build every Christian who want to do exploit. He also told his congregation that they can only be told how to build their faith but no one will force them to build it.
4. “Settle With The Word, Build Your Faith And Win The War”:
In conclusion, Bishop Oyedepo encouraged his congregation to settle with the Word of God and build their faith and win the war of life.
