Bishop David Oyedepo Reveals what will happen to a Believer who lives a wordly life
Although we live in this world, as believers, we are not to be a part of this world. We should not crave for the things of this world, but our affections should be on the things that are above. Some christians make the mistake of chasing the things of this world, and during his sermon at the second day of the week of spiritual emphasis, Bishop David Oyedepo revealed what would happen to such christians.
He identified the cause of worldliness as the spirit of the world. According to him, this spirit compells men to chase after the things of the world.
“There is the spirit of this world that makes believers to be worldly minded. Everything about the world soothes them. They are in a rat race with the things of the world,” he said.
He revealed that this is a dangerous position for a believer to be in because everything in the kingdom of God works by love.
“The spirit of the world will make his or her christianity a futile adventure because everything in the kingdom works by love. Faith works by love. Giving works by love. Prayer works by love,” he said.
He specifically hit on how faith works by love because without faith, a believer will be unable to receive anything from God.
He ended by pronouncing that when a christian becomes worldly, his christianity becomes unfruitful.
“When the spirit of the world takes over a man, it makes his christianity become barren. Unfruitful. Full of struggles,” he concluded.
He prayed and casted out the spirit of worldliness from his members.
