Bishop David Oyedepo has revealed what happened to him one day when a man entered his office to tell him that God was not with him.
He gave this experience during the midweek communion service today at Canaanland.
“There was a day I was in my office,” the Bishop said. “One man who dressed like he was Elijah came to me and said ‘God sent me to tell you that he is not with you.’ When he finished, I told him thank you.”
According to the Bishop, the man asked him if he heard what he said, and the Bishop said he was confident that God was with him.
“What was the man trying to do? The God that followed me into the office, the God who lives inside me, is now not with me?” the Bishop said.
“What the man wanted to hear was for me to tell him ‘What should I do?’ And then, he would tell me to close the door!”
I like the confidence with which the Bishop used to reply this man. It showed that he knew his identity in Jesus Christ, and nobody could deceive him.
Christians can learn a lesson from Bishop Oyedepo’s experience. Let us search the scriptures to discover who we are and what we carry, until we are fully convinced and unshakeable in our faith.
