Bishop Wale Oke sends important message to Nigerians

The President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Bishop Wale Oke, on Thursday, said it should be the responsibility of all Nigerians to make the country great again.

Oke, who gave the charge on the occasion of Nigeria’s 61st independence anniversary message, added that it would require the collective responsibility of all Nigerians for the country’s past glory to be restored.

He said that the current situation in the country should be of great concern to all well-meaning Nigerians.

The clergyman enjoined rulers and leaders to desist from playing blame games often associated with incidents in the country.

“If we must find ourselves back to the glorious past where religion, ethnicity, and security among other present-day challenges were never our problems, then all of us must truthfully work together as an indivisible entity for our own good,” he said.

Oke also called on Nigerians to shun acts of segregation, nepotism and favoritism, adding that Nigerians at home and abroad should fear God and be true worshippers.

“Any group of people or country that repudiate God in its undertakings is already done for, and will always incur the wrath of the Almighty.

“So let’s go back to the basics by making God our first in all things. We are not talking about religion here” he said.

Oke, also the presiding Bishop of The Sword of the Spirit Ministries, Ibadan, expressed hope in the greatness envisioned by the country’s founding fathers.

He urged the Federal Government to revamp the nation’s ailing economy, noting that the depreciation in the country’s currency exchange rate was disturbing and worrisome.

“Something urgently must be done to salvage the situation, because this is having a telling effect on Nigerians, especially with every item becoming prohibitive.

“Let our economic experts swing into action to arrest the increasing prices of food and other goods. God will help us,” Oke said.
