Blasphemy: President Buhari Finally Reacts To The killing Of Deborah In Sokoto Who Was Accused Of Blasphemy

President Muhammadu Buhari had in a reaction to the killing of Deborah described it as a matter of concern, which demanded an impartial, extensive probe into all that happened before and during the incident. According to Garba Shehu, the president’s spokesman, no one is allowed to take the law into their hands.

In his words, President Muhammadu Buhari noted that Muslims all over the world demand respect for the Holy Prophets, including Isah (Alaihissalaam, Jesus Christ) and Muhammad (SAW) but where transgressions occur, violence is never the answer.

Speaking further, the president added that religious leaders preach that it is not for the believer to judge the actions of another person. Rather, there are constituted authorities meant to handle such situations.

Some part of the statement issued by the President on Deborah’s gruesome murder read thus:

“President Buhari said the news of the killing of the young lady by fellow students was a matter of concern and demanded an impartial, extensive probe into all that happened before and during the incident.

The President noted that Muslims all over the world demand respect for the Holy Prophets, including Isah (Alaihissalaam, Jesus Christ) and Muhammad (SAW) but where transgressions occur, as alleged to be the case in this instance, the law does not allow anyone to take matters into their hands”.

President Buhari further condoled with the families and friends of the deceased, urging them to be strong to bury their dead, while assuring them that justice will take its course.
