CAC Pastor arrested for holding Easter Service, Worshippers flee

A pastor at the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Ogijo, in Sagamu Local Government area of Ogun State, was on Sunday arrested for having an Easter Service, in defiance of government’s COVID-19 lockdown directive.

The pastor, Jonathan Olowonisile, was arrested alongside his associate and two others.

DAILY POST learnt that worshippers in the service fled immediately they sighted policemen from Ogijo police station.

Abimbola Oyeyemi, who is the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the arrest.

Oyeyemi said the pastor was nabbed for leading a congregation contrary to the ban on mass gathering.

“Our men arrested one Pastor Jonathan Olowonisile today, (Sunday) for contravening the order against high density gathering,” he said.
