The case reports in the medical literature that explain stroke occurring during or within 2 hours of intercourse show out an interesting correlation between extramarital relationships and a higher risk of intercourse-related stroke.

Intimate relationships outside of marriage have been found to increase the risk of dying from a stroke. It is unclear whether this is attributable to a decreased willingness to seek emergency medical assistance or to an elevated stroke rate associated with emotional or psychological issues related to adulterous sexual involvement.
