Tunde Bakare is a Nigerian Prophetic-Apostolic pastor. He was reportedly arrested in March 2002 after preaching sermons critical of then president Olusegun Obasanjo.
He was the running mate of the Nigerian presidential candidate Muhammadu Buhari in the 2011 Nigerian presidential election. He was formerly a pastor at the Deeper Life Bible Church before he left to join the Redeemed Christian Church of God which he soon left to form his own.
Senior Pastor and Founder, Latter Rain Assembly, Tunde Bakare has completed his mega Church reported to cost up to N18 billion.
The new project is known as The Citadel and will serve as the church’s auditorium.
The Citadel had her ground breaking at Oregun, Lagos, a stone throw from the old Daystar Christian Centre in April 2010. Afterwards, a court case ensued which was won by the Church after which she continued the construction in 2016.
Bakare has operated the Latter Rain church at a single location on akilo road, ogba, Lagos without any branches anywhere, for many years.
He tried to establish some few branches elsewhere but soon reverted to status quo. But with this new structure, the modus might be changing.
