Apostle Suleman Johnson has again dropped a very powerful and heart touching message. He said that claiming to be a Christian and refusing to preach inside bus is nonsense as God doesn’t recognize you.
He went on to say that many people want to be noticed (popularity) yet they aren’t willing to pay the price to get to that top they are envying. In his words, “don’t cry for microphone when you haven’t handled megaphone”.
He went on to narrate how his wife use to go to different villages just to proclaim the gospel despite having all it takes (Visas etc) to travel out of the country.
He also added and said that friendship with the world is enmity with God. He also challenged Christians by asking to know how many times they’ve knocked on people’s doors just to come and share God’s word with them. See the excerpt of the sermon below:
“To sit in a bus and travel without preaching, God doesn’t know you. God says “you want me to know you? Become an ambassador of my word”. Paul was addicted to preaching the gospel. Friendship with the world is enmity with God.”
“Jesus was a preacher. He preached to thousands of people. You have not handled MEGA PHONE, you want to handle MICROPHONE. You have not done town cry, you want to cry on the pulpit. Jesus at His level did one-on-one evangelism. Some of the persons he met includes: Nicodemus (John chapter 3), Woman by the well (John chapter 4), the man by the pool of Bethesda (John 5)”.
“When last did you do one-on-one evangelism? When last did you knock on somebody’s door and say “I brought the gospel of Jesus”. You’ve not done that, God says “I don’t know you”. In my days in school, I stood in front of the class when the lecturer was done. I say “I want to preach to you”.
“When last did you enter inside the market place? When last did you go to the streets? Don’t be a “guy man” Christian. I just look at people, no foundation laid and you want to talk like great men like Pastor Chris and great men like papa Adeboye. Do you know what those men have passed through? If you hear their stories you will not want to be like them”.
Jesus must be mentioned in the gospel. You must let them know that somebody paid the price on the cross for them. God is not looking for advisers, preach the gospel. Christ must be mentioned. As a singer, you are invited to preach anywhere and you are given 5 minutes, the first 1 minute, lead people to Christ.
