Daddy Freeze has reacted to the alleged N9 billion loan obtained by the former Deeper Life Bible Church & Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Pastor, Babatunde Gholahan Bakare.
Babatunde Gbolahan Bakare, a prophetic apostolic pastor, is one of the most politically influenced pastors in Nigeria. He was the running mate of the Nigerian presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari in the 2011 Nigerian Presidential Election. He is currently the General Overseer of Citadel Global Coomunity Church formerly known as Latter Rain Assembly.
Recall that a report by Legit.ng days ago said the pastor was swimming in a debt of N9 billion which he allegedly collected from WEMA Bank to build his cathedral.
Daddy Freeze while commenting on this story via his Facebook handle in a video captured ‘Borrow Pose Church’ said, he was worried when the pastor admitted that he collected a loan from WEMA Bank. “How will you collect a loan to preach the Gospel. What guarantees you return when you preach the gospel? The Church of Christ is a non-profit organization”, Daddy Freeze said.
The Radio broadcaster went further to describe this act as ‘ridiculous’. “All these in the name of building a mega church which unfortunately, Covid-19 stepped in. Your God that you are borrowing money for didn’t tell you that there will be covid-19? Now I know that we are worshiping different God. My own God will not tell me to borrow money and still set me up with covid”, Daddy Freeze said.
Stating further, Daddy Freeze asked a question that how did we get here. He asked if we can get back to when the church was actually a place of worship and not a business venue. Nigeria doesn’t need mega churches, we need inventions to move forward.
“My respect for Pastor Babatunde Gholahan Bakare still remains the same but I am only worried about the God he serves and the one I serve”, Daddy Freeze concluded.
