TOPIC: THE STEWARDS OF THE MYSTERIES OF CHRIST.

TEXTS: 1 CORINTHIANS 4:1-5.

Today we are continuing in studying the Epistle of Paul the Apostle to the Corinthians church, and from where we have read, you will see that those verses talks about the stewards of the mysteries of Christ, it is required that everyone be faithful to the work of God.

POINT ONE: THE TRANSPARENT FAITHFULNESS OF TRUSTWORTHY MINISTERS OF CHRIST.

1 CORINTHIANS 4:1-2.

As ministers of Christ, it’s required that we are found faithful in everything.

I. The required faithfulness of true ministers of Christ.
1 Corinthians 4:1-2; Luke 16:10-12; 2 Corinthians 2:17; 2 Timothy 2:2-6.

It’s required that, pastors, leaders, Saints of Christ and preachers be found faithful, that they will not add or subtract anything from the word of God. Faithfulness is demand, we must be Holy and be ready for the coming of the Lord. And as it is given to us, we must preach it, don’t add human wisdom, we must serve God faithfully in everything. Be faithful in little thing and in big thing. Let faithfulness develop in you, and in your habit
If you’re going to be faithful in secular things, you must be faithful in Spiritual aspect, but if you’re not faithful among other men, you’re not going to be faithful to God Spiritual.

As minister of God, all that you have heard, everything has been committed unto you, so as it has been given to us, we must be faithful, and you will pass that unto the faithful men, in choosing people, in selecting people, those you are appointing must be faithful to the word of God, they must be faithful to the Lord, they must be faithful to their family, they must be faithful in practicing the word of God, they must be faithful to what they have heard and they must have passion to teach other people.

II. The Revealed fullness of the Total mysteries of God.
1 Corinthians 2:9-10; Galatians 1:11-12; Ephesians 3:2-6; Romans 16:25-27.

When we got saved, we love God, maybe as for sanctification, as for deliverance, as for answers to prayers, you don’t know about all those things that the Lord has prepared for His Own, it’s reveals to the pastors who are faithful by the Spirit of God, and it’s reveals to us by the Spirit of God.

Paul the Apostle was faithful, that’s why God revealed the mysteries things to him. The mysteries of God is not what we can search in the forest, they are reveals to the Apostles by the Spirit of God, and they are revealed to us today.

III. The Reassuring fulfilment in trustworthy men of God.
2 Timothy 2:6,15,24, Titus 3:5-7, Galatians 2:20, 2 Peter 1:21.

The Apostles of old experienced the mysteries of Christ, they spoke about Salvation and they are saved, they spoke about sanctification and they are sanctified too, they spoke about Holiness, and they are Holy too, they spoke about answering to prayers and they had answers to prayers, they spoke about the Holy Ghost and they are baptized with the Holy Ghost too, if you’re going to be minister of God you must be partaker of the fruits. If you’re telling others to repent, you must have the experience of Salvation, if you’re telling others to obey God, that obedience must be in your life too, you must also benefits the Faith and the Grace of God you’re preaching, you must have active Faith and productive Faith, you must have the Faith that shows that you have tasted the Grace of God.

Paul was also partaker of the faith that he preaches, he had the Faith to abide in the work of God, you must be partaker of all the fruits you’re preaching. Do you preach salvation? you must be saved. do you preaches sanctification? you must be sanctified too, be partaker of the blessings of God too. You must have that same experience of Holiness you’re preaching to people, you must have the Power of God in your life, as you’re declaring the mind of Christ to people, you too must have the same thing you’re declaring, you must be partaker of everything you’re offering people.

POINT TWO: THE TRIUMPHANT FAUTLESSNESS OF THE TIMELESS MYSTERIES OF CHRIST.

1 CORINTHIANS 4:1-2; EPHESIANS 3:3-4,9-12, COLOSIANS 1:27-29.

This word of God is faultless, it’s infallible and true. It’s required that the stewards be found faithful, it’s required that people that carry the revelation that brings abundant life be found faithful. If you want to abide in the ministry, you must have the virtue and the Grace and the life of faithfulness in every areas of your life. When you read the word of God and when the revelation comes from the Lord, we must endeavour to understand and apply it and be willing to be obedience to the word of God. Many people are ignorant of that mysteries of Christ, but when the revelation of how we can get connected with God and abide till we see Him face to face comes, we must reveal that revelation to other people. That divine nature that makes us Holy and sanctified, that revelation is revealed to us, and we must experience that revelation and live by that revelation. There’s wisdom in the word of God, it’s the wisdom in His impactation of the Power and the Spirit unto us. Salvation is revealed unto us, sanctification is revealed unto us, the word of God is True, it’s truthful, it’s trustworthy it’s faultless and it’s infallible and it makes us triumphant.

I. The unsearchable riches of the mysteries of Christ.
1 Corinthian 4:1; Ephesians 3:3-9, Roman’s 11:33-36, Psalms 145:3.

Anywhere you are, you are representing Christ and because of that, you’re conscious that you’re a minister of Christ, and because you’re member of Christ, the consciousness, the perception and the understanding is there, it shows in your character and in your comportment and in your attitude. Let people see that character and disposition in you everytime. His fundamental mysteries is unsearchable, it’s so deep, so high and so great. Everything He has created are so deep, that’s why you must live your life for Christ and through Christ and by Christ. Everything you have, anywhere you go, everything will be of Him and through Him and then there will be Glory for Him forever and ever.

II. The unchangeable revelation in the message of Christ.
1 Corinthian 4:1-2, Hebrews 13:8-9, Revelation 22:16-20, Matthew 28:18-20.

The message has been given to us and that message is unchangeable, it’s unalterable, He has given us that message for all eternity. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. His mysteries, His meditorial word, His redemption is still the same. Everything He did in the past, He still do today. Jesus in His righteousness and in His redemption He’s the same yesterday and today and forever. We need to abide and remain in that message. No man should add personal opinion, human wisdom or private personal thought to the word of God. His word is permanent and unchangeable His word remains as it was at that time. Don’t claim to be wiser than Christ and His word, don’t claim to be wiser than the giver of the whole counsel of God, until the end of this dispensation, teach people to observe all things Christ commanded.

III. Our unswerving Recommitment to the mandate of Christ.
1 Corinthians 4:1-2, Matthew 24:45-46, Acts 20:26-28, Jeremiah 23:22,28-29.

We must reconsecrating ourselves to the mandate of Christ, the commitment we have is to give sinners the word of Salvation, it’s to give profitable word to sinners to repent, it’s to give profitable word to backsliders to be restored, it’s to give profitable word unto the faithful people of God to reconsecrate themselves, it’s to give profitable word to the Saints to continue, it’s to give profitable word to those who are saved and sanctified the word of His power, we also give to the people who are sanctified the word of His Holy Ghost, and to those who are baptized the word of witness, and to the people who are working to be faithful to the work of God. We must remain in the faithfulness of Christ, so that we will not be found guilty of any man. We must give them the totality of the word of God, we must be free from the blood of all men, we must do everything at the appropriate time, we must pass that to other preachers that are coming after us. That is the commitment we ought to have, that we are reinforcing and recommitting and reconsecrating ourselves everyday.

POINT THREE: THE TRIVAL FORWARDNESS AMONG TALKATIVE MEMBERS AT CORINTH.

1 CORINTHIAN 4:3-5.

We see the lives of Corinthians people, instead of sinking in the word of God, instead of receiving and maintaining the word of God and have real change in their lives, they are talkative. All they can think about is useless things. Instead of consecrating on the word of God they are hearing, they didn’t do what they should have done, when the mind of Christ is been declared to them, they are not yielding to the word of God.

I. The Corinthians’ inability to Judge their ministers.
1 Corinthians 4:3-5, 2:14-15, 3:2-4, Hebrews 5:12-13, 1 Corinthians 1:19-23, 3:18-20,8:2.

They don’t know all the past about anyone and about the foreknowledge of God, they don’t have knowledge in all the mysteries of God, and when God comes, He enlightened them. The Lord will bring to zero all the wisdom of men. The Corinthians people didn’t have enough knowledge and revelation of God because that have the inability to judge their ministers.

II. The compelling instruction to Judge among the members.
1 Corinthians 4:5,3,12-13,6:4-5,1:10,11:31-32,14:24-25, John 7:24.

Whatever anybody is doing that is wrong, we should correct them. If somebody claim to be a believer and he’s not walking according to the word of God, we are compelled to Judge the ministers. If somebody is not walking according to the scriptures, you will know, if somebody is rebellion, and unrighteous, you can tell, then put away that defilement. The Corinthians people were to judge among themselves appropriately and righteously. When you do something that is wrong, the Spirit of God will bring conviction in your heart, your conscience will judge you, when you have self discipline, you will hold to the Lord in prayer and that self discipline will make you to avoid wrong things. If you don’t want anybody to correct you, and you’re uncontrollable, you’re digging grave for yourself, the reason they are correcting you is so that you will not be judged by the word on the last day. That’s why they discipline you in the church when you do something wrong, we should also understand that we should Judg according to the appearance, and as we are Judging we should be at the right side of righteousness.

III. Christ’s infallibility as Judge of men and ministers.
1 Corinthians 4:4-5, John 5:22,8:16,13:48, 2 Corinthians 5:10-11, Hebrews 9:27, Roman’s 2:16, Acts 8:30-31.

God will Judge everyone accordingly, that’s why we should leave all the Judgment we don’t understand in the hand of God. There’s a Judgment day coming, and this is the time we should prepare, so that we don’t get to the day of reckoning unprepared. We must all appeared before the judgement seat of Christ, Judgment day is coming and the Lord want us to prepare for that day. No matte how you covers your sin, it’s appointed for everyone to die and after death is Judgement. There’s Judgement of everything we have done in life, if you cast away the opportunity to repent, if you cast away every opportunity you have to do the right things, there’s Judgement for that. There’s Judgment on every opportunity you have wasted. The mercy of God is still available today for those who are willing to come to Him.
