The former special assistant to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan has stated that it is not an act of faith to come to God out of desperation as our last hope. According to a tweet he shared on his verified Twitter handle, he wrote, “Don’t make the mistake of coming to God as your last hope. That is not faith. That is desperation. Come to God as your only hope and you will never be desperate. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path -Proverbs 3:6”
Challenges are part of human life. It makes us learn and become strong once we scale through them. Although it can be quite frustrating, sometimes we approach our problems wrongly. Remember, Proverbs 3:5-7 told us not to depend on what we think we know. Wisdom and understanding of humans will fail. But God said, “acknowledge me first in everything you do, and I will direct your part to a successful end”.
Maybe we fail to approach or consult God first in our dealings. Just like what Reno Omokri said. It will a great mistake to neglect God. Put him first. Consult him first when you have problems not out of desperation but out of faith. Stop using God to do “try and luck”. He is the Author of everything even all our problems now and in the future. If that is the case why then do we approach him when we tested our luck and failed and decided to run back to him out of desperation. Please let us learn to put him first.
