It is no longer news that seasoned Nigerian gospel music minister, Dunsin Oyekan, has made plans to hold a crusade, tagged “The Outpouring” that is akin to the one held in 1998 by the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
According to Inspiration Magazine, It can be recalled that during the Lekki ’98 crusade, the estimated number of people present was 7 million, as people of different countries and states gathered in one place to worship God.
That being said, it has been over 23 years since that revival-themed crusade was held, however, Dunsin Oyekan, perhaps led by a burden, has decided to recreate that moment, at the same location, Lekki.

Not long afterward, Oyekan also revealed how he received a response from Adeboye through Instagram, which also served as words of admonition for him. Although short, the words that Adeboye wrote to Oyekan were “Go and excel, God bless you!”

Although Adeboye is not listed among the array of ministers that have been scheduled to minister, either in music or word, on the scheduled day of the crusade, he has played his part by speaking words of affirmation and blessings over the crusade.

Conclusively, it is believed that Adeboye’s Lekki ’98 crusade gave rise to a new phase in the Nigerian church. Therefore, Oyekan has done the right thing in seeking Adeboye’s blessings before the commencement of his crusade.
