Imagine standing at a door and knocking repeatedly but not realizing that if the door is opened, because of how close you are to the door, it will hit you if you donât step back.
Thats how it is with many. We are too anxious to receive that blessing from God without realizing that if God opens that door, it will âhitâ us. He wants you to step back, put your trust in Him and allow Him prepare you for what He has in store.
Exodus⏠â23:28-30⏠âsays âI will send terror ahead of you to drive out the Hivites, Canaanites, and Hittites. But I will not drive them out in a single year, because the land would become desolate and the wild animals would multiply and threaten you. I will drive them out a little at a time until your population has increased enough to take possession of the land.â
âGod could have cleared the land at once and given it to the children of Isreal but because they werenât large enough to possess the land He didnât. By releasing the blessing in bits, He was protecting the Israelites from wild animals that would populate and threaten them.
From this passage, I realized that sometimes for our own good, God withholds the full package but but releases the blessings in bits so that the wild animals of carelessness, ingratitude, unfaithfulness, unpreparedness and so on would not destroy the blessings.
He wants us to be built, prepared and ready for the blessings. For example, you are praying for the double portion of anointing whereas you havenât allowed God to prune you and pass you through the wilderness of preparation and God is saying âstep back, I need you to first be prepared else this blessing will consume youâ
How prepared are you for the blessings? Have you allowed God to prune you, to break and remold you or are you just after the blessing when you donât have the vessel to carry it?
My brother, my sister, step back, allow God work on you and trust Him through the process.
God bless.
