Do you remember when you were little, and how people would say that the children coming up are the future of our nation, and how they will fix the problems that plague us? Can I ask how that turned out? Are you fixing any problems or did you end up contributing to the mess that we find ourselves in?
Faith Oyedepo said that the level of corruption prevalent everywhere today, requires anyone that will just dare to be different and have a strong will to live against the prevailing corruption. That’s the only way positive change will happen.
You see, the issue is that even if you wanted to bring change, you will fail if you’re still part of the system. For example; imagine someone who hates giving or collecting bribes in order to move forward in his career. Imagine he is so disgusted with the system that he determines in his heart to bring changes if he ever has the opportunity. I can be sure of the fact that this man will not be able to bring any change because as long as he has benefited from the corrupt system, it would be difficult for him to destroy it. Especially if other people know of what he did to come up.
Do you see why Mrs. Oyedepo said what she said? It’s only someone who has a strong mind, and who will choose to stand up to the corrupt system, that will be able to bring any type of change. I know it will be very difficult, but God never promised we would have an easy life on earth. Christians should not go through life with the attitude of “if I can’t beat them, then I should join them.” That’s the attitude of a weak person. It shows the person has given up on the fight.
