Despite the fact that Pastor Enoch Adeboye and Bishop David Oyedepo are both General Overseers, the latter gives the former the respect he deserves due to his father figure. Pastor E.A Adeboye who is the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church Of God is well respected in Nigeria due to his humility and his show of fatherly love to everyone.
Bishop Oyedepo and Pastor Adeboye are good friends and in addition, Adeboye sees Oyedepo as his son. You might be wondering why a top Pastor like Oyedepo will still be fathered by Adeboye, but the truth is that no matter the height you attain in life, you still need to submit to someone who you see as a father in the faith.
This father figure paid off in 2017 when Adeboye visited Oyedepo unannounced at his home and the visitation which was divinely ordained by God saved Oyedepo from a plane mishap which was the third time he had experienced such. Pastor Adeboye had a vision about Bishop Oyedepo; in the vision, he said ‘Lord, Lord why seek the living among the dead?’. Due to the disturbing vision he had, he visited Oyedepo the following day as early as 6:30am to pray for him and Oyedepo had no idea that he was going to come.
Adeboye prayed for Oyedepo and that same year, the plane he boarded almost had a crash. The plane was malfunctioning as it had a twin motor failure and this was attributed to the aircraft pitching off with more pitch force, but to the Glory of God, the pilot was able to react promptly to the mechanical malfunctioning.
Adeboye and Oyedepo are best of friends and the General Overseer of Living Faith will always see and take Oyedepo as his spiritual father.
