He told me to fast for 3 days and 3 nights, I called him a killer – Pastor Adeboye Narrates Encounter

Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God revealed how he reacted when someone told him to fast for 3 days and 3 nights.

He revealed that before he became General Overseer, he remembered one time someone asked him to fast for three days and three nights continuously. He called him a murderer because up till that moment he couldn’t even fast from morning till evening. The longest fasting he had done was on Good Friday from morning till noon and I will always be checking the time to see if it is noon yet so he could eat. “So when someone said you are going to fast for three days and three nights, I said he was a killer,” he said.

Then he became General Overseer, the church wasn’t big then, only 40 parishes but there were 40 problems. He didn’t know when he began to fast, first three days, then five days, and the church began to grow and the problems began to grow, ten days. There was a year he fasted forty days and forty nights three times in one year. It didn’t remove the mountains, it made the mountains bigger. The church has grown so the problems have grown bigger but God has taught him to fly. “The ability to fly above mountains, receive it in Jesus’ name,” he prayed for them.
