Head Pastor or Founder This Is What You must Do With Your Church Account – Bishop David Oyedepo Advises

Bishop David Oyedepo, the General Overseer of the Living Faith Church Worldwide spoke on the third day of the Church Growth Conference, 2022.

According to Church Gist, he revealed that they were at the airport and he was with one of his mentors and somebody greeted him and said “give him five hundred.” He then replied “for what? Is that tithe or offering or giving to the poor.” The man also heard him and started laughing. The man of God then claimed that he is not going to waste resources, it’s not part of his budget. He said that there is no allowance for it in God’s agenda that thou shall give to everybody who greets you.

He said that in 1987, they were going to host a meeting in Kaduna and then one of his mentors said “Open that bag, take as much as you want.” He then replied, “I don’t want money.” He said, “you mean I can’t give you money?” He then apologized but claimed that he will prefer to learn how to get it than have someone give it to him. He then said that he is privileged by light to be an addicted tither, a tireless kingdom promoter so he is in the centre of the blessings and it is flowing without having to pray for it once. “If you are not in the covenant, you put yourself in struggles,” he said.

Speaking to the ministers, he said, “Don’t tell me we are just starting, we also started someday. It is not enough to know your calling, you must know what it takes to pursue your calling. What it takes to make it work. We have a wholesome responsibility in determining the outcomes of our lives. Don’t toy with waste.”

According to him, the Head Pastor or Founder must have a separate account from the Church account. This will make things easy. Not every income of the ministry is consumable. He said that they have several homes that they are looking after – orphanages and all of that, one of them he got involved in 1996. “Be covenant-oriented in managing your resources and ministry resources,” he said.
