The Holy Ghost and the Holy spirit in the King James version of the bible is considered a synonyms (words with the same meaning), the King James version was written in Greek but was later translated to English in the year 1611, and that was when a lot of people started the word “Holy Ghost“, which was originally written as Holy Spirit in Greek in the King James version.

There is really no difference between the two words, the only thing is that people in today’s world feel that ghost is referred to as someone who is dead and should not be used for the third person in the Blessed Trinity, which is after the Father and the Son.

The Catholic church commonly use the term Holy Spirit while other protestant churches make use of the word Holy Ghost till today. The Holy Spirit/Ghost is represented with the symbol of a dove and it was mentioned both in the new/old testament 90 times,

* When the apostles preach about the Spirit of the Lord.

Before Jesus ascended into heaven, he told his apostles that he will not leave them orphans, but he will send a comforter, and helper for them, and that was the Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit descended on the apostles they were gifted with the power of tongues, knowledge, understanding, piety, Wisdom, the fear of God and others.
