Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God spoke to his members about the need to develop a child-like faith.
He revealed that child-like faith is the kind of faith that can receive a miracle. He read the book of Matthew 18:3 which says, “And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” This means that if you want to participate in the kingdom of God you need to have the faith of a child. When you hear about it, it is hilarious but real.
He however told them a story of how he went to co-ordinate a Bible study in the house of one of his friends somewhere in Ikoyi. He decided to stay the night and the man’s wife was a very good cook. During dinner, four ladies sat down in front of him and two men sat down beside him. As you were eating you noticed that one of the ladies signaled to one of the men, who coughed and immediately decided to ask daddy a question. As daddy turned to look at him, the lady carried his leftover and ran into the kitchen.
According to him, the other ladies followed her and it began to hear shouting and rejoicing in the kitchen. They were eating his leftovers. He said that they had the faith that if they can just eat the leftovers, miracles will happen in their lives. The following year, one of them who had been looking for a husband got married. Another one who was believing God for promotion got a double promotion. One was looking for a child and she got it. The last one was looking for an international appointment and God did it for her.
