Speaking biblically, hospitality is treating strangers and friends alike. It is welcoming one another into our homes and lives. Hospitality is a sacred duty. However, when a Christian uses their gift of hospitality, they aren’t expecting payment. No return favor is needed. They are serving others without the need for an exchange, and they do so joyfully. They do this because they have what’s called a spiritual gift.
However, Pastor Yemi Davids, the lead pastor of Global Impact Church spoke to his members about hospitality. He advised them to practice hospitality all the days of their lives. Rebecca never knew that she was arranging her own husband with her hands. He said that our attitude either opens doors or closes doors. He advised that you greet people well because you might be looking for a house and your driver could be the one who will see a vacancy and tell you.
According to him, there was one billionaire in this country who had a cook. Some people now arranged with the cook to poison his favourite wine and get 5 million naira. He went back home and told his boss what they said. Due to the good relationship he had with his cook, he was able to save him. “If it was your cook, what will he say? Will he ask them to double the dose?” he asked.
